- The Federal Government has recently released new guidelines for medical debt collection practices.
- These new guidelines limit the ability for collection agencies to collect patient debt for medical service, or pharmacy services.
- As a result, from 11/21/23, providers using AR Proactive will be temporarily unable to send patient accounts to collections. When we learn what best options are available to our providers with the new regulations, then this option will be available again.
- If you've already sent patient accounts to the collection agency (before 11/21/23), they will remain in active collections, and no action is needed.
