Patients pay you online at BillpaySafely.com. The patient enters their name and account ID, so you know who paid you.
- Patients can pay you at BillpaySafely.com, our patient portal.
- On the Payment page, we ask the patient to enter their name and account ID (see example below). We send their name and ID to you in the daily Payment Posting File. You use this file to post payments in your practice software.
- At the time the patient is making payment, we validate (check) that the patient entered their name and ID correctly, so that you will be able to correctly identify who paid you, and post the payment to the correct patient account.
- Below are the 4 options you have for how we validate their last name and ID. By default, all new Providers are set to option 1, but you can change it.
BillpaySafely.com > Payment page: what level of account validation is required for a patient to make a payment?
- require matching "Last name" and matching "Account number" (default, most strict)
- This level requires a last name and account number that match each other, and match the database
- require any "Last name" and matching "Account number"
- This level requires an account number that matches the database, but allows any last name to be entered.
- require any "Last name" and any "Account number"
- require any "Last name" (do not require "Account number") (least strict)
- Here is a video explaining the above options:
